Terms and Conditions

Payments:

GoCardless will send you a request for payment after we have cleaned your windows and payment is collected 5-7 days after your clean. An email notification will be sent prior to your payment being taken informing you of the amount due and the date that the payment will be collected and you have full control as you would with any Direct Debit payment set up.

Full payment must be received within 7 days of the invoice date (unless otherwise stated).

For larger jobs, we may request a deposit to secure your booking. This deposit will be deducted from your total bill. Please note that deposits are non-refundable should you choose to cancel your booking.

Late payments, will be charged interest at 2.5% a month while the account remains unpaid. We require you to pay our expenses and legal costs incurred in obtaining payment on an indemnity basis. We reserve the right to charge you £10 for administration, £10 for legal notices, £20 for returned payments, and any third-party costs involved in tracing you, returned cheques, debt collection and legal action. We also reserve the right to pass unpaid accounts to a debt collector/solicitor for recovery/legal action, to whom we may assign the debt and all rights without restriction.

Any data gathered from you about you or your company will not be disclosed to any third party.

First cleans: For your first clean only there is a one off charge to cover the additional time taken on the initial clean, this varies with house size and frequency of ongoing cleans, this will be explained when signing up. Achieving optimum cleaning results may require 2/3 cleans. Detergent residues from previous traditional window cleaning methods and if your windows and frames have not been cleaned for a number of months may initially cause slight spotting. Leaching can also occur from trickle vents, beading and heavily soiled frames, however, in most cases, this will cease after a couple of cleans once the dirt is removed fully from the frame areas.

Our pure water cleaning system is very effective at cleaning general dirt from your windows, if you have builders residue (e.g. plaster, concrete and paint etc.) stickers or adhesive,  staining/discolouration on windows or frames from chemicals or rust and UV bleaching of frames on your windows, pure water will not be effective at removing these, please notify us.

Satisfaction Guarantee: If there is a problem with the standard of the window cleaning, it must be reported within 24 hours of cleaning and we’ll come back until you’re completely satisfied. Please note that photos will be requested prior to our team returning to your property.

Regular window cleaning & frequency: We offer the choice of every 4 or 8 weekly visits. We ask for some flexibility on time scales due to rain, bank holidays and other factors of a week either side of the time due. Due to the nature of our business we cannot guarantee exact times or dates for regular window cleaning.  

When arranged cleans, gates must be left open the day of your clean. If the gate is locked and access cannot be gained to do a full clean, you will be charged the full price unless we can gain access to another way.

Turning us away: Lincs Window Cleaning work to be as reliable as possible for you, but in order to operate as a small business we appreciate our customers being reliable too. We make time and space for your requested 4 or 8 weekly scheduled clean. If you cancel the night before or on the day of your scheduled clean it is too late for us to replace your clean with another customer. We reserve the right to charge you the full price, and/cancel any further scheduled cleans with us. 

Bad Weather: Our pure water system works in all weathers, therefore we can clean your home/premises in all conditions without affecting quality, including medium rain and low temperatures, but excluding storms and strong winds.

Damage: Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd do not accept liability for damage caused by decorative or structural defects at your property, such as but not limited to, ill-fitting windows, doors, fascias, guttering, window/conservatory trims, unsecured windows and doors, leaking seals, loosely stuck on lead, decorative bars stuck on glass, rotting frames, flaking paint, open/broken trickle vents, etc. The brushes we use are specifically designed for window cleaning and are made of a soft plastic headstock with nylon bristles. There is nothing on the brush which can scratch your glass.

Photography and filming disclaimer: Please note that photographs and footage may be taken when we carry out our services. These will be used for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media or in any third party publication. Please contact us if you have any concerns or if you wish to be exempted from this activity.

Refer a friend offer: For each friend, family member or neighbour you refer that uses us for more than one clean, you will receive a 50% discount on your regular window clean. This offer can be used for each referral you make. The 50% off discount can only be used for window cleaning and no other services

Annual recurring booking offer: For gutter/fascia/soffit cleaning and gutter emptying only. First clean will be charged at full price, each yearly recurring clean will be reduced by 20% if one service is booked, or 30% if both services are booked. Booking must be made within 12 months of the last clean to be eligible for a discount.

Roof cleaning, Pressure Washing and Steam Cleaning

Pressure washing and Hot/Steam utilises low to high-pressure water and chemicals to remove tough stains from exterior surfaces. This high pressure ensures thorough cleaning, but it also carries the risk of causing damage. Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd are trained to operate its equipment and use chemicals with the utmost care to avoid harm to your property. Although we keep our operating pressure to a minimum, damage may still occur due to inadequate maintenance, property neglect, and/or low-quality building materials. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to ensure that their property has been maintained in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations and that any defects or concerns are addressed before washing to maintain a watertight surface. The Client assumes these risks and takes accountability for any damage resulting from the explanations above.

The Client also agrees to release the company from any or all liability for injuries sustained due to equipment placement, including tripping/falling, contact with equipment, falling debris, or equipment.

Client Responsibilities on the Day of Service:

1. Please ensure that the external water supply is activated and accessible.
2. Please ensure that all windows and doors are securely closed.
3. Please keep all pets and children indoors during the cleaning process.
4. If chemicals are being used, follow all instructions from our staff.
5. Clear the work areas of all items and remove plant pots, doormats, vehicles, and any other movable sensitive materials from the areas being cleaned.

Acknowledgement of Risk & Release of Liability
Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd advises the Client to utilise their property’s fuse box to turn off power to all exterior outlets, light fixtures, or any other electrically powered features. This is especially important for outlets that are not covered by exterior covers. Additionally, if Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd are cleaning or cleaning close to solar panels, these should be isolated by switching them off at the fuse panel. It is essential for the preservation of the client’s property that they inform Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd of any surfaces that cannot be cleaned with highly alkaline or acidic detergents (see exclusions below).

Exclusions:

– A £50.00 cancellation fee applies if notice is not given within 24 hours of service, or if the company arrives and cannot wash due to steps1-5 not being completed.
– The company is not liable for water intrusion. Despite every effort made to prevent this, poor seals around windows and doors, broken tiles or perished roof lining, and cracks in concrete or stone surfaces can make this unavoidable.
– The company is not responsible for the rare “fogging” effect that occurs on multi-pane windows with poor seals.
– This agreement to provide services does not guarantee complete removal of stains. The company aims for 100% customer satisfaction and will cooperate with homeowners when this does not occur.
– Notify the company if there are any surfaces on or near the home that cannot have any form of detergent on them. If the company is not notified of this, the company is not responsible for any adverse effects to any surfaces in this regard.

Corrections of Damages:

Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd is only liable under this contract for structural damages that directly result from operator error, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct. Damages must be discovered and reported within three calendar days of completion of any work. Upon receipt of written notice, the Company shall be allowed 30 calendar days from the date of receipt to inspect the premises Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd shall have the sole option of repairing or contracting repair work to address any structural damages that result directly from the Company.

Payment Terms:

Payment is due when the work is completed unless alternate arrangements have been made. If the client uses a credit card for payment, a 2.5% processing fee will be payable to the total invoice value.

Collection of Outstanding Debt:

Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd reserves the right to instruct a collection agency at 30 days past due. The collection agency will issue a formal letter. If payment is not received within the terms of the collection agency, they will seek to enforce legal action with added costs and interest. All legal fees incurred will be added to the remaining unpaid balance.

Agreement to Terms:

By accepting our quotation, the Client agrees that all the specifications and conditions are satisfactory and hereby accepted. The Client authorises Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd to do the work as specified on the proposal/quotation document. The Client releases Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd from property damage unless the damage is caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Terms and Conditions for Gutter Cleaning Services

1. Service Scope
Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd. will provide gutter cleaning services using a high-powered vacuum system. Ladders will only be used where absolutely necessary. The service includes an inspection of the gutters using a camera before and after the cleaning to ensure quality and transparency.

2. Limitations of Liability
a. Underground Drainage
Our gutter cleaning service is limited to the above-ground gutter system only. We are not responsible or liable for any blockages, debris, or damage occurring within underground drainage systems, including downpipes or soakaways.

b. Neighboring Properties
If your gutter system is connected to neighboring properties, and their gutters are filled with debris, there is a possibility that debris from their system may flow into yours after cleaning. We strongly recommend that connected gutter systems are cleaned at the same time to avoid this issue. Lincs Window Cleaning Ltd. is not liable for debris entering your gutter from neighboring properties after cleaning.

3. Environmental Factors
Overhanging trees, moss, or vegetation on the roof can cause gutters to fill more quickly with debris. While our service includes the removal of debris at the time of cleaning, we cannot be held responsible for the accelerated accumulation of debris due to external environmental factors. It is advised to have regular maintenance in areas prone to such conditions.

4. Before and After Photos
To provide proof of service, we will take before and after photos of the guttering system to document the condition of the gutters. These photos will be provided to the customer upon request.

5. Access and Safety
a. Access to Property
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure safe access to the property for the cleaning team, including the removal of any obstructions.
b. Ladder Usage
Ladders will only be used if absolutely necessary and in compliance with safety standards. Our team is fully trained in working safely at heights.

6. Weather and Rescheduling
Gutter cleaning services may be affected by weather conditions. If the weather poses a safety risk (such as heavy rain or strong winds), we reserve the right to reschedule the cleaning for the earliest possible date.

7. Payment Terms
Payment for services is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Failure to make payment within 2 days may result in additional charges and possible suspension of services.

8. Warranty and Satisfaction Guarantee
We guarantee that the gutters will be cleared of all debris at the time of cleaning. If you are not satisfied with the service, please notify us within 48 hours, and we will address the issue promptly. However, we do not guarantee long-term gutter performance as debris can accumulate again quickly, especially in areas with overhanging trees or other environmental factors.

9. Customer Responsibilities
a. Regular Maintenance
It is the customer’s responsibility to schedule regular gutter cleaning to avoid future blockages or damage.
b. Reporting Issues
Any issues arising from the gutter cleaning must be reported within 48 hours for us to address them promtly.
